Manufacturing and Ethics

HOLLY LULU IS DESIGNED LOCALLY
Holly Biswas, the creator of Holly Lulu, designs each style in her lingerie design studio. Where possible, styles are also sampled by Holly or a local sample machinist to trial and refine each new style.
Once a style is approved, it is sent to an ethical factory in North-East China who specialise in lingerie manufacturing. At the factory, each style undergoes further improvements to its fit, quality, and finish under the direction from Holly to ensure a high-quality product is created that is ready for sale.

ETHICAL MANUFACTURING
We take ethical manufacturing seriously and vetted numerous manufacturers before settling on our lingerie factory. The factory is BSCI verified, and produces styles for other well-known lingerie brands such as Triumph and Wacoal. We also make sure our factory provides benefits to their staff so that they have a great quality of life and happy work environment.

Our customers often praise the high quality standard and workmanship of each Holly Lulu design - this is something that we are very proud of.  We have built a strong relationship with our factory through technical development, enabling us to speak and understand the same design language. We manufacture our lingerie in China due to the high-quality standards that Chinese factories can meet. They use advanced design technology to create beautiful and unique lingerie designs that are not possible with the machinery used by local manufacturers.

SUSTAINABILITY
To reduce waste, we source materials from deadstock fabrics in Hong Kong and China. Deadstock fabric are surplus or unused materials that are no longer needed by the original manufacturer or retailer and would otherwise go to waste. Using deadstock fabric enables us to produce Holly Lulu designs in small quantities, using high quality materials, and be able to eliminate waste in the process. We abide by a sustainable slow fashion movement and produce styles in small quantities, designing styles to be cherished, loved and held onto by our customers. We reduce packaging throughout our logistic processes, minimising plastic and using recyclable or compostable materials when posting our online orders.
